What's on Your Winter Bucket List?

What's on Your Winter Bucket List?

The winter season is a time when we all hunker down indoors.  It's cold and snowy and no one feels like venturing out.  It's also the perfect time to spend at home having some YOU time or reconnecting with family. Here are 10 activities that won't cost you cash or clutter this season.

1.  Sip hot cocoa by the fire.

2.  Make a snowman or create snow angels.

3.  Try a new soup recipe.

4.  Spend a lazy morning in flannel pajamas and fuzzy slippers.

5.  Take a winter walk in the snow or go sledding.

6.  Feed the birds.

7.  Start a journal or scribble in an adult coloring book.

8.  Make fudge.

9.  Set goals for the new year or identify a single focus word to guide your year.

10.  Start an organizing project that you've been putting off; maybe tackle those filing cabinets or family photos.

Make this the season all about you and your home.  I guarantee organized spaces will bring you warmth and joy to last until spring!

What will be on your bucket list this winter?

  • Sarah - Nice to have choices all laid out for us! Nice idea, a wintertime bucket list. I like that a lot because it feels doable. And I have done a few of these already .... happy about that. Working on #9 these days. I'm finishing up my business goals & plan for the year, and that usually contains seeds for my 3 words (thx to Chris Brogan for that!). Great for those of us who are so curious and love to learn .... and also need to narrow our focus.

    • @Sue West: Thanks for chiming in, Sue. Coming up with those focus words can be tough. I have a blog post coming out about that soon. Would love to hear your words when you choose them!

  • Oh! I love your list! It's exudes the best of those cold, wintry days...like PJ mornings, hot cocoa with marshmallows, and cooking up yummy comfort foods like soup and fudge!!! Winter isn't my most favorite season. I tend to prefer warmer days and less bulky clothing. But with a list like this it makes me WANT to embrace the cold months ahead. Thank you for the reminders about all that's good with the season.

    • @Linda Samuels: Thanks for commenting, Linda. The way you feel about winter is the way I feel about summer... lol!

  • Congrats to your son for getting his creative art work published on the web!!!!! I love all things snowmen and enjoy that decorating theme throughout the winter months. I've already enjoyed #5, a delightful walk in the first snow of the season!! I finally found white hot chocolate mix for #1, but alas I have no fireplace, just a cozy blanket!! I like the challenge of #9 and have chosen "refresh" as my word for 2017. Thanks for sharing on P.O.B.C.

  • 3,5,9 and 10 will definitely be on my list this winter! #4 is very appealing, but part of the deal when we got a dog was that I'd do the early morning walk so...

    • @Janet Barclay: You might have to share your soup recipe, Janet! And I'd love to hear your 2017 focus word if you select one.
